We do Custom Printing!

Here’s what you need to know.

Fangirl Fabrics does NOT do design work, but we can turn a single image into a seamless designs. If you have a Team/Business logo you want to get printed onto Fabric we can help with that. A design Fee will be applied.

1) Designs

You can purchase designs online (for example: Etsy, Facebook Groups), they must need the following criteria:

  • 300 dpi

  • PNG file type

  • Seamless, meaning the design is continuous when pieced together.

  • have permission to have the design printed for your use.

If you are unsure about a design email us your questions and we can check!

We also accept ready to print meter files. Meaning you design your own meter and we can print it. You can find size requirements for each base further down this page.

2) Scaling

Let us know what size you’d like the design to be printed. We find the best way is to choose the largest image and decide what size you want it. While most companies scale the entire design, (6”x6”, 10”X10”) this creates an inconsistent scale because not all designs are created equally.

For example: designs that are 10”x10” and 13.33”x13.33” will look different sized when scaled down to 6”x6”.

Hulk, 3” tall.

We will confirm designs and scales with you before printing so please check your emails. If we don’t hear from you in time, your order will be submitted the following week.

Here are some examples of scale. The first image is printed in 3 different scales. Large scale is 3”, Medium Scale is 2” and Small Scale is 1”.

I personally use Large Scale for clothing, but everyone has a preference for scale and base. Exceptions being when a design has a wide image then Large is too big and I’d chose Medium.

When it comes to Small Scale, any design with a lot going on will be hard to see the full design. I would only use small scale for scrunchies.

PLEASE NOTE, when scaling stripes or other small images (ie triangles, dots), SMALL Scale is best, especially if using as an accent. We are more than happy to print 1/2” or any size you want as well, just leave a note during checkout!

3) Fabric Base

We have 21 bases to choose from!

  • Cotton Woven: 100% cotton, 170 gsm (NO stretch) -> $26/meter *144 cm = 56.69” wide

  • Stretch Cotton Woven: 92% cotton, 8% spandex, 145 gsm (2 way stretch) -> $26/meter *138 cm = 54.33” wide

  • Cotton Canvas: 100% cotton, 250 gsm (NO stretch) -> $26/meter *144 cm = 56.69” wide

  • Waterproof Canvas(not plastic): 100% cotton, 250 gsm (NO stretch) -> $26/meter *144 cm = 56.69” wide

    • this base is cotton canvas with a coating on top and feels very similar

  • Cotton Waffle: 95% cotton, 5% spandex, 180 gsm (4 way stretch) -> $30/meter *150cm = 59.05” wide

  • Brushed Cotton Ribbing: 95% cotton, 5% spandex, 250 gsm (4 ways stretch) -> $30/meter *150cm = 59.05” wide

  • Cotton Spandex: 95% cotton, 5% Spandex, 260 gsm (4 way stretch) -> $30/meter *152 cm = 59.84” wide

  • Cotton French Terry: 95% cotton, 5% Spandex, 280 gsm (4 way stretch) -> $30/meter *152 cm = 59.84” wide

  • Bamboo Lycra: 95% bamboo, 5% spandex, 240 gsm (4 way stretch) -> $30/meter *152 cm = 59.84” wide

  • Bamboo French Terry: 92% bamboo, 8% spandex, 300 gsm (4 way stretch) -> $30/meter *152 cm = 59.84” wide

  • Brushed Cotton French Terry: 55% cotton, 45% polyester, 325 gsm ->$30/meter (2 way stretch) *150 cm = 59.05” wide

  • Cotton Toweling: 95% cotton, 5% spandex, 180 gsm (2 way stretch) -> $30/meter *175 cm = 68.89” wide

  • Softshell: 95% polyester, 5% spandex, 325 gsm, (NO stretch) -> $24/meter *143 cm = 56.30” wide

  • PUL: 100% polyester, 170 gsm (NO stretch) -> $24/meter *150cm = 59.05” wide ** NOT FOOD SAFE**

  • Double Brushed Polyester (DBP): 94% Polyester, 6% Spandex 220gsm (4 way stretch) -> $24/meter *155cm = 61.02” wide

  • Athletic Knit: 88% Polyester, 12% Spandex, 300gsm (4 way stretch) -> $24/meter *155cm = 61.02” wide

  • Swim UPF 50+: 88% Polyester, 12% Spandex, 260gsm (4 way stretch) -> $24/meter *152 cm = 59.84” wide

  • Boardshort: 100% polyester 110 gsm (NO Stretch) -> $24/meter *148cm = 58.27” wide

  • Stretch Minky: 95% polyester, 5% Spandex, 210 gsm (2 way stretch) -> $24/meter *155 cm = 61.02” wide

  • Squish (Double sided Minky): 95% polyester, 5% Spandex, 290 gsm (2 way stretch) -> $24/meter *145 cm = 57.09” wide

  • Faux Leather: 1mm thick, litchi texture (NO stretch) -> $30/meter *140cm = 55.12” wide

    Please note that polyester fabrics print differently than cotton. If you are ordering multiple bases just know that the colours will be slightly different. See pictures below.

4) Ordering

You can order anytime from the website -> Custom Printing

Custom Printing is sold in 1 meter increments, a minimum of 1 meter per design is required.

Once you have placed your order, please email your files in a zip file or Google Drive to fangirlfabrics@gmail.com.

Errors do occasionally occur in printing. If there is an error/shortage upon arrival we will contact you and discount the shortage or reorder if the amount doesn’t work for your project. We have the right to keep any extra fabric. This only occurs if the printer prints the wrong base or we order the wrong base by mistake)

**IMPORTANT*** For organizational purposes, if you are ordering multiple files, please add 1 item to your cart for each file and fill in the information according to the listing.

5) Turn Around Time (TAT)

Average TAT is 3-5 weeks from the time we order to the time it arrives in the shop (some bases arrive quickly than others). If you are ordering fabric for a customer, please ensure you are adding extra time to YOUR TAT to including shipping to you, your preparation of items and delays if they do occur.

Orders go in EVERY MONDAY! Turn Around Time starts every Monday unless otherwise stated.

Chinese New Year is every February for the entire month therefore no orders will be placed during that time.

6) Shipping

During checkout, you can choose any of our shipping options. You can combine with in stock items but your order won’t be shipped until all items are in the shop. If you’d like in stock items shipped right away please place two separate orders.
